There will be a Show Choir Concert on Friday, Dec. 20th during 3rd period on the the 2 hr. early dismissal schedule (calling students down around 8:30). Tickets are $1.00 & can be purchased in the Athletic Office until 1st period on Friday.


The Baking & Cooking Club will be selling Gingerbread cookies for $1.00 each at lunch on Friday.


Indoor Girls Track will begin on Tues., Jan. 7th. It will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays right after school until 4:30 PM.

Any athlete who would like to help at the Food Bank on Sunday with their holiday food drive can sign up in the athletic office. Workers are needed from 3:30-7:00. Please consider sharing some of your time for a great cause.


Students taking the ACT this Saturday are reminded to take your admission ticket, 2 number 2 pencils, an approved calculator and a photo ID. If you do not have a photo ID, see Mrs. Tootle in the guidance office for an Identification letter.

2013 LHS Winter Coat Drive
Beginning Monday, November 18th, the Generation Now group from the Beyond the Bell program will be accepting new or gently used winter clothing including: coats, blankets, sweaters, scarves, hats, gloves and boots.

Tickets for the student matinee Friday 11/22, of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be on sale from Tuesday, 11/12 through Friday 11/15 in the Athletic office for $3.00 each. No tickets will be sold after Nov. 15th.

"How you see your home town" photography contest, sponsored by Hope Blooms is open to students grades 5-12. Photos will be on display at the Bowen House from April 29-May 3. Judging will take place on May 3rd at a reception for all participants. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st & 2nd place finishers in both middle & high school. Submissions are limited to three pictures per student. Questions? Need to borrow a camera? To sign up for the October practice sessions please email Alyssa Burns through the school website or see her on Monday to sign up. Sessions will take place immediately after school until 3:15, Monday - Thursday for two weeks beginning this Monday, 10/7/13.


Key Club : The organizational meeting of the Key Club will be held on Tuesday, October 8 after the morning announcements in the Lecture Hall. There will be a meeting for anyone who played softball last year and is interested in individual instruction, and is not in a fall sport. The meeting will be in room 257 Tuesday, 9/17 right after school.


Top 10 Homecoming Queen Candidates. Pictures will be this Wed., Sept. 18th at 1:00. Please dress nicely.


Attention College Bound Seniors and your parents: This Thursday, 9/19 from 6-8 pm, Ohio University/Lancaster will be hosting a college fair. Over 100 colleges will be in attendance. Attending a college fair gives you and your parents a chance to talk directly to the colleges you are considering.

Balfour Class Rings will be here on Wed., Feb. 20th during lunch periods in the cafeteria. The representative will take orders, deliver rings, and make any adjustments as needed to student's rings. If ordering, a $70.00 deposit is needed to place the order. Delivery will be in the spring. Ring order packets are available in the Athletic Office.

Athletes: The mandatory parent meeting for indoor track & spring athletes is Monday February 25th @ 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. This meeting is only required if your parent has not previously attended a fall or winter meeting.



Interested in trying out for 2013-2014 cheerleading?
There will be a required parent meeting for anyone interested in trying out for the 2013-2014 football & basketball cheerleading squads on Wednesday, February 20th @ 5:00 pm in the LHS cafeteria.
Tryouts will be Feb. 25, 26 & 27 after school until 4:30.

Ohio Business Week (OBW) is an exciting week-long summer program that gives eligible high school students from around the state a unique, hands-on experience with business & entrepreneurship. Students learn directly from the pros how to establish & run their own company. Hosted on a college campus, students are also able to experience what campus life is like & lay the groundwork for a successful future. If you are interested in attending OBW, please see Ms. Norway in the guidance office or Mrs. Myers in room 202.

High School Archery will resume practice tonight (Thursday, 1/3) at the old Sprouts building on chieftain drive from 6-8 pm.
Open tryouts for the Archery Team will take place next week, Monday through Thursday at 6:15 and 7:15 also at the Sprouts building.
You must shoot 3 of the 4 nights to achieve an average score. For more info, contact Head Coach, David Sheets @ 808-2283.


All Beyond the Bell students: Applications for Driver's Ed are due January 8.
If interested, see Wendy in the activities office for applications. Space is limited.


Seniors: Kirk Thompson with Herff Jones, cap & gown sales, will be here next week to pick up any orders that haven't been turned in.
Orders need to be turned in to Wendy by Wednesday, Jan. 9th so that you will not to be charged extra money for a late order.
If ordering online after Kirk picks up, you will be charged a late processing fee of $25.


Interested in taking the February ACT for FREE?
Beyond the Bell is offering an ACT Prep class starting January 22nd.
The first 15 students to sign up will be reimbursed for the cost of the ACT.
There will be a brief meeting on Monday, Jan. 7th, in room 145 after the morning announcements.


Attention College bound seniors: Financial aide night is this Tuesday, January 8th @ 6pm in the High School cafeteria.
This meeting is for students & parents. The purpose of the meeting is to help with the completion of the FAFSA form.


Attention sophomores: If you are interested in going to Tri County, now is the time to apply.
Those who completed a Tri County application during the visit earlier this year, that application is being mailed to your home.
The application needs to be returned to your guidance counselor with your parent / guardian's signature as soon as possible.
If you did not complete an application during the visit but want to attend Tri County, you may pick up an application in the guidance office.

All Beyond the Bell, National Honor Society, and Key Club members: Friday's community service for Beyond the Bell will be the Snowflake Campaign for Sandy Hook Elementary School. We will make snowflakes and also plan the next community service project.


Spring Musical: Anyone interested in auditioning, there will be an informational meeting in room 334 at the end of the announcements on Thursday, 1/3/13. Please attend, even if you are just thinking about being a part of the Spring Musical!


Winter Wonderland (semi-formal) Dance: Saturday, Jan. 5th, 7-10pm. Tickets on sale in the athletic office, $2.00 each.
Grades 9-12, no middle school students allowed. Please see Wendy for guest passes for students from another school (gr 9-12)
or a graduate from Logan High School.


Indoor Track practice for boys & girls will begin Monday, January 7th. Practice will be after school until 4:30. Athletes will meet with Mrs. Sevcik on Monday the 7th after school & will need to have physicals & paperwork. Copies of forms are available in the athletic office.
