A list of students eligible for induction into the Logan High School National Honor Society is posted outside of the guidance office.  Sophomore students with a 3.75 or above cumulative grade point average, and Junior and Senior students with a 3.50 or above cumulative grade point average who have attended Logan High School for at least one full semester are eligible to apply.  Students are asked to please stop by and check the list for eligibility.  Oversights and errors should be brought to the immediate attention of Ms. Norway.  Applications for students wishing to apply for membership in the National Honor Society will be available on Monday October 24.

Herff Jones representatives will be here to take orders for class rings on Wednesday, October 5 from  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Ring order packets are available in the school office.

There will be a a brief meeting for all student council members on Monday, 9/26 after morning announcements.  See Miss Watts in 245 with any questions.  


Students are not permitted to stay after school for the football game unless that are enrolled in Beyond the Bell.  

TO ALL SENIORS: 
Hocking County Board of Elections is looking for interested seniors to work the polls on November 8th.  This is a paid position and i training day is involved.  If interested, see Mr. Meyer immediately in room 254.    

Teen Institute is coming to LHS.  This popular program at the Middle School meets once a week and is designed to promote a drug free school, and positive relationships.  Meeting will be every Wednesday in room 149 from 2:45 to 3:45.

Do you have old shoes, or new shoes that don't fit or are out of style?
the Pet Orphanage is collecting old or new pairs of still usable shoes to raise money for the Pet Orphanage.  This is a great way to help orphaned animals, as well as provide shoes to less fortunate families.  
Shoes will be collected next week in the first floor rotunda, outside the main office.  Place your donated shoes in the KROGER box placed there.  We will be collecting shoes all next week.  
Many other high schools are collecting shoes, so lets show our Chieftain Spirit by donating.      

Seniors, be sure to nominate 4 deserving female students 

SENIORS: Be sure to nominate 4 deserving female students for Homecoming Queen during your English class on Thursday 9/22.  Questions? See Miss Watts in 245.  

There will be a Key Club meeting on Thursday, September 22 right after the morning announcements in Mrs. Myers' room.  

Students should stay on the Logan sideline during the varsity home football game on Friday.  They should not be hanging out on the visitor side during the game.

STUDENT COUNCIL: Students interested in running for student council - pledge forms are due to Miss Watts in room 245 by the end of the day on Wednesday, 9/7.  Any questions? See Miss Watts in room 245. 


KEY CLUB: The first Key Club meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 8 after the morning announcements in Room 202.  

There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in working on the fall play on Wednesday, September 7, right after school in room 316.  Actors and techies are needed for the show.  See Mrs. Riggs with questions.   


GIRLS BASKETBALL:  Open gym on Sept. 12 (Monday) from 7-8:30 in the main gym.

To students interested in running for student council this year: there will be a quick informational meeting in room 245 after announcements on Tuesday, 8/30.  If you have any questions, see Miss Watts in room 245. 

Parking permits are available for sale for $20.00.  Please see Ms. Reichling to purchase a space.  Please have drivers license and vehicle license plate number available with you.  

To any students interested in playing baseball in the spring, there will be weight lifting after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  

The first Thespian Troupe meeting officers meeting is Monday, August 29the after school in room 316. 

The first full Thespian Troupe meeting is Wednesday, August 31, after school in room 216.  All members are expected to attend.  Members should see Mrs. Riggs before Wednesday if they find they are unable to attend.

SOPHOMORE CLASS:  10th grade chrome book collection will be Thursday, May 19th in your 10th grade history class.  All students must turn in their chrome book, charger and chrome book bag, or a debt slip will be issued.  


Students who ordered prom pictures may pick up orders in room 111 from Ms. Holmes. 
   
Any FFA or 4H member showing animals at the 2016 Hocking County Fair MUST attend one session of Quality Assurance clinic.  Those dates are:   May 14 @ 1:30, May 15th @ 1:30, May 17th @ 6:30, May 19th @ 6:00.

Freshman Dance! The "Starry Night" Freshman Dance will be held this Saturday, April 9th 7-10 p.m..  Tickets will be sold with Lisa in the Athletic Office for $10 Monday through Friday.    


Juniors and Seniors - Tickets for the 2016 junior/Senior Prom will go on sale Monday, april 11th in the Athletic Office.  This years prom theme is "Neon Lights."  The price for each ticket is $10.  Prom will be held at LHS on April 23, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m..

Talent Show auditions will be held March 21- 23 after school in room 316 for students interested in performing in the school show.  Audition information and forms, as well as sign ups, are in the main office.  Interested students should sign up for a time and completely prepare their audition material.  Only 16 acts will be chosen for this years show. So  "get your act together" and bring your A game!

Cinderella Rehearsal is cancelled for this evening.  Last night's run of the show was great, so take the night off for some much needed rest.  Review your music and lines, and see you at 6:30 a.m. Friday morning.  


There will be a craft show this Saturday, March 5th from 9:00 - 3:00 at the old Elberfelds building in downtown Logan.  All proceeds benefit the Kalklosch Scholarships given to Logan High School Seniors.

REGIONAL SCHOLARS: Qualified 11th grade students are needed to apply for the Chieftain Scholar Program for the Southeastern Ohio Regional Scholars retreat.  Applications can be picked up from Mrs. Hayden, Mrs. Hildreth, or Mr. Seeger.  All applications must be turned in no later than 2:30 on Wednesday, March 9th.

Senior pictures for the yearbook are due by Friday, February 29.  Pictures can be turned in to Mrs. Barry in room 219, or emailed to Mrs. Barry at abarry@lhsd.k12.oh.us

Mandatory athlete and parent meeting for all spring sports will be Tuesday, March 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school gym.  The mandatory individual coaches meetings will take place immediately following the OHSAA meeting.  All athletes and parents must attend to be eligible for spring sports. 

Attention students who are in grades 6 through 12 and like to have fun, dance, make new friends and are also drug free, then you should consider attending the 2016 Teen Institute Camp, hosted by Health Recovery Services.  TI Camp 2016 is April 8-10 at Canters Caves in Jackson Ohio.  If you are interested read your email and stop in the guidance office and pick up an application.  Feel free to invite your friends!  There are scholarships available to help with the cost of attending camp.  The deadline is march 18.  

Any girls interested in playing soccer next year- please come to Ms. Pichel's room, 248on Tuesday, march 1 immediately after school for a short meeting regarding spring and summer schedules.  If you cannot attend  thew meeting, please see Ms. Pichel.

JV and Freshman Boys basketball: Turn in equipment and uniforms after school tomorrow, Tuesday, 2/23. 

This is a reminder that baseball tryouts will begin this Monday after school in the auxiliary gym from 3-5.  If you have any questions talk to Coach Sutton in room 247. 

There will be a brief meeting for all girls interested in girls outdoor track on Wednesday after morning announcements in the lecture hall.  

There will be a short informational meeting about boys track following announcements on Friday, February 26, in the lecture hall.

In The Know will meet today, Friday January 29th after school in Mrs. Bentley's room.  

The 2016 Martin W. Essex School for The Gifted and Talented at Otterbein University offers rising high school Juniors and Seniors opportunities for career exploration through a unique program comprised of classes, seminars and workshops on the arts, sciences and humanitites on Otterbein's campus.  The cost is $650, but there is need based financial assistance available .  Please see Mrs. Hayden if interested.

There will be a brief meeting with Girls Indoor Track on Thursday, january 21st after afternoon announcements.  If you plan to participate in track, you must have a physical before coming to to practice.   


There will be a softball meeting thursday after school for anyone interested in playing this year not currently in a winter sport.  The meeting will be in room 257, Mr. Walsh's room.
